The app
Chat
The chat app at chat.thinkr.sh, with the private lane by default and the open lane by choice.
The chat app runs in your browser at chat.thinkr.sh, with no account. It loads nothing from other companies, and it talks only to the servers of Thinkr.
Two lanes
Each model in the picker belongs to one lane, and a chat takes the lane of its model.
| Private lane | Open lane | |
|---|---|---|
| Models | Open-weight models in TEEs | Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, and others |
| Label | Private · Verified | Open · No retention |
| Encryption | HPKE, from your browser to the TEE | TLS, to each party on the way |
| Verification | Remote attestation, in your browser | None, a contract of zero data retention |
Private lane
Every new chat starts in the private lane. Before each chat, your browser verifies the remote attestation of a trusted execution environment (TEE), then encrypts each message with Hybrid Public Key Encryption (HPKE) to a key that only that enclave holds. Thinkr's proxy forwards ciphertext. Not even Thinkr can read these chats. Verification explains each step.
Open lane
The open lane serves the models that do not run in a TEE. Each request requires zero data retention (ZDR) and forbids data collection, so OpenRouter sends it only to providers that promise by contract to keep no prompts and no answers. Thinkr sends no user ID and no app name with a request.
TLS encrypts your messages on the network, but four parties can read them while they pass: Cloudflare; Thinkr's proxy, which keeps no copy; OpenRouter; and the provider, which must read them to answer.
Switching lanes
If you switch a chat to a model of the open lane, the app sends that model the earlier messages of the chat too. To keep a private conversation out of the open lane, start a new chat.
Your history
The app saves your chats in the storage of your browser (IndexedDB), on your device. Thinkr never receives a copy, so it cannot read, restore, or delete them.
- The app does not encrypt your saved chats. Anyone who can open your browser profile can read them.
- To delete one chat, open its menu and pick Delete.
- In Settings, under Data, you can export every chat as a JSON file, or delete all chats.
- To delete everything that the app stored, clear the site data of chat.thinkr.sh in your browser. That deletes your credit too.
Temporary chats
A temporary chat is not saved to your history, and it is gone when you close the tab. To start one, open the options of New chat and pick Temporary chat.
Reasoning
Reasoning models think before they answer. The switch Show reasoning, in the settings of the message box, shows or hides their thinking.
Coming soon
The app marks these features Soon: images and documents in a chat, and web search.
